Work Experience

2010-2011 Post-Doctoral Scholar, Instructor, and Editor, College of Communicationsy, The Pennsylvania State University. Courses taught: Telecommunications Regulation, Media Industries, Gaming and Interactive Media, Introduction to the Environmental Politics (Fall 2011), Internet Law (Spring 2011). Managing editor for the Journal of Information Policy, a peer-reviewed research journal in which I manage the review and publication process. Member of the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communications, Union for Democratic Communications, International Communications Association, and Telecommunications Policy Reseach Conference.

2009-2010 Visiting Professor of Telecommunications and Public Policy, Department of Public Policy, Central European University (Budapest, Hungary). Courses taught: Fundamentals of Media and Telecommunications Policy; Global Broadcasting and Telecommunications Law. Both courses feature an international focus, and comparative coverage of policy in the European Union and the United States. Student advising and research with the affiliated Center for Media and Communication Studies.

2006-2009 Teaching and research assistant in media law and telecommunications policy, Penn State University. Technical editor for four issues of the disciplinary newsletter Media Law Notes. Frequent guest lecturer in media law-related undergraduate courses. Occasional lecturer and workshop facilitator for other graduate students, and technical or academic matters.

1995-2003 Information technology consultant, technical writer and editor, curriculum developer, classroom instructor, and training development manager for implementations of complex business/industrial software applications. Includes approximately 4.5 years at IBM.
